What my dog taught me about life

Animal communication comes through the heart and then connects through the third eye.

For years I tried using my intuition and third eye energy and I didn’t get far. I would send mental pictures and look for pictures back.

I would open up my third eye and stare at my dog, picture her peeing in the backyard. She wouldn’t pee. Why doesn’t she see that I’m sending her an image to pee? It’s raining and I really need her to pee so I can go to bed.

Now I know from experience with true animal communication, it’s not a way to force behavior. It’s not something you do because training isn’t working.

What I needed to understand was the missing element.

The heart.

Animals communicate through emotions and the heart is the holder of emotions. Through connecting intuition, the third eye and the heart, we can connect on a deeper level.

When we bring energy into our hearts and open up, the messages come through. I see it as a heart-to-heart connection. I feel the bond between myself and the animal grow.

This is the space where intuition and trust come in and deception can’t thrive.

Finding the heart energy is a practice. It’s not like meditation where you dedicate an hour. A heart practice is a simple checking in, feeling your heart and noticing.

Is there energy flowing?

Does it feel stuck?

If it feels stuck, do some deep breathing, gaze at a piece of art or at nature and feel the energy swirl into your heart. You’ll know you’re there, you’ll feel more alive.

When you are in a heart space, you can communicate across physical boundaries. Animals, plants and other people become easier to understand.

When I first learned this I started to connect. At first they were simple little things, I was brushing my teeth and looking at Dax, in my mind I saw her food bowl. Dogs really love to talk about food.

As I learned more, I started connecting to Dax and asking her at the soul level why she barked at me so often. I suddenly saw myself from her perspective. I was sitting on the couch, on my tablet checked out. She was trying to get me  to engage in life. Her mission has been to get me out of my shell and engage with life.

I decided the message was real and I would listen. The next time she barked at me I sat up and gave her scratches. She encouraged me to play and we did. I felt more alive and truly enjoyed it.

The constant barking at me stopped. Now, she will do it when a delivery truck is outside but that’s not deep. She’s a vigilant dog and wants to be sure that she is doing her job and protecting us, even when I tell her that the truck is bringing shnicky shnacks.

If you have pets and want to learn from them, I encourage you to open your heart and ask them to join you. Open your intuition to the possibilities and accept what you see, hear, or feel. You might be surprised at what they have been trying to tell you.
