What our Animals want

When I connect with someone's pet, the first thing that comes through is rarely about food or walks. It's about connection with their person. A true heart connection.

They'll show me the moment the bowl hits the floor with a flat "eat." The leash clipped on with "go do your business." Not unkind, just... absent. And the animals notice. They tell me, again and again, how busy their people are in their own heads, too far inside their own thoughts to see the bird on the fence, the light on the grass, the world their animal is trying to show them.

They use behavior to pull us back. The dog that suddenly forgets house training after years of being perfect. The cat that won’t eat. It's not always a problem to fix. Sometimes it's an animal working hard to get their person present again.

This is what I've learned across hundreds of readings: our pets aren't just along for the ride. They're guiding us, whether we realize it or not.

Here's how I hear them.

I start with exercises to center in my body. I invoke my deity and spirit guides and set the intention that only that of the highest good will be communicated. I open my body up from the crown chakra and down to my feet, which are rooted to the earth, and let my heart chakra open; animal communication comes from the heart. Then I allow the energy of the universe to flow from my crown and down into my heart. I feel alive and grounded. I am ready.

I've found that the less I know about an animal going in, the better my initial read will be. I ask for their name, species, gender, and whether they're alive or in spirit. Then I introduce myself and ask if they're interested in chatting. The response comes in energetically. Sometimes they're hesitant and want to go slowly, but they have always agreed to chat.

This is when the fun starts.

I feel emotions, personality, vibrancy, a sense of who this animal is. I may feel calm and grounded, or happy and light. One cat came in meowing loudly. I share with the person what I'm feeling, seeing, or hearing, and get confirmation. Then I ask the animal to tell me more about their personality, and this is when the mini video reels come in. I see a cat in a window and feel its senses as it looks out. Sometimes I feel serious, other times I want a cookie and play time. It all comes in with simple words or short phrases, short video reels, and sometimes just a knowing or a feeling about something.

I'm seeing a lot of themes with the animals. On a walk outside, they want the chance to sniff. They want their person engaged, talking to them or watching them. They tell me how their people are so lost in their own minds that they don't see the beauty around them, and how they work hard to use behaviors to pull their person back to the present moment.

Our animals want what's best for us. They teach us so much about being present, acceptance, and unconditional love. They use behavior to get our attention, and frequently that behavior is mirroring. For the person who is super busy and has no time, they may find their pet develops behavior issues that force them to stop and handle it, like the animal that's fully house trained but suddenly starts going in the house.

They also help us build confidence. While we think we're training them, they're building us up too, giving us a sense of accomplishment. A great example is when you train your dog to stop dragging you around and walk calmly by your side.

I love connecting with them and feeling what they feel. I love giving them a clear voice and helping their person understand them better. Animal communication is about listening, hearing their voice and their perspective, so you can strengthen your bond and connection.
